From Ward Rounds to Watercolor

For me, art has always been more than just an escape; it’s a doorway to a world of colour and adventure. What began as simple sketches and spontaneous designs to fill a few idle moments gradually grew into a deep and enduring passion for painting.

Painting, I’ve realised, is much like life itself. It begins as just an idea, a hazy vision of something you wish to create. Then, with every brushstroke, you work toward that dream. At first, the canvas may look like nothing more than a blur of colors, but slowly, shapes emerge, and the picture begins to come alive.

That transformation is what truly fuels me. Each piece lights me up from within and reminds me that growth takes patience, persistence, and, above all, faith in the process. It’s the perfect antidote to the high-stakes world of nursing, a place where I trade critical decision-making for the simple, quiet joy of creation.

As Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” My finished canvases are exactly that—silent poems of my heart, speaking truths to me in ways that words never could. They are the quiet, restorative echo of a busy life, ensuring that after every long shift, I always have a place to find light.
